LAHAINA, Hawaii – One year after a series of wind-driven wildfires impacted Maui and nearby islands, the devastation is still apparent across the nation’s fiftieth state.
In August 2023, fires swept through communities such as Lahaina[1], destroying
Debby’s slow forward speed across Florida[1], Georgia and the Carolinas has resulted in many communities experiencing double-digit rainfall totals as the water starts to flow into streams and other tributaries.
Hurricane Debby made landfall[2] on Monday along
Tropical Storms Emilia and Fabio in the eastern Pacific came close enough to each other that the rare Fujiwhara Effect[1] was on display between the coasts of Hawaii[2] and Mexico.
