As more rain threatens the Texas Hill Country, the exhaustive search for over 150 individuals still missing after the devastating July 4 floods now enters its second week. With 120 confirmed fatalities, there are grave concerns that the incoming storms could severely hamper these critical search operations. Guidance increasingly supports the return of showers and thunderstorms across much of west-central Texas, including portions of the Hill Country. The worst of the rain is expected to stay north and west of the hardest-hit areas but the NOAA's Weather Prediction Center has issued a flash flood risk for the area.
