A decade ago, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) introduced the Belt and Road Initiative to the world to promote countries’ economic development along the historic Silk Road. This plan was viewed as Chinese leader Xi Jinping’s signature economic plan under his “Major Country Diplomacy” strategy. Lured by the disguise of economic development, more than 100 countries around the world joined the initiative. Over the past decade, many countries have incurred huge debts as a result, and the CCP has been able to engage in an implicit rivalry with the United States. A group of former Hong Kong district councilors now in exile has called on Hong Kong citizens to boycott the upcoming district council elections held by Hong Kong authorities. The Hong Kong government changed the city’s electoral system in July by drastically reducing the number of directly elected seats to 20 percent, explicitly stating that the District Council’s functions include supporting the government’s policies. “Since the forced implementation of the National Security Law in Hong Kong in 2020, the Chinese Communist Party and the Hong Kong authorities have been systematically changing the political landscape of Hong Kong in a destructive manner to stifle all voices opposing the Chinese Communist Party,” reads an Oct. 16 statement by Hong Kong District Councilor Diaspora Network.... 
In a surprising revelation, the Russian Finance Minister recently acknowledged that a substantial majority of the drones used by Russia originate from China. The announcement has sparked discussions about Russia’s reliance on foreign technology, while also drawing attention to the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) move last month to impose export controls on its drones. The Chinese regime has formally arrested a Japanese national, who was detained in March, on allegations of spying as the tensions between the two nations have worsened. Japanese official confirmed the arrest during a press conference in Tokyo on Oct. 19 and called on the Chinese communist regime to free its citizens to avoid further damage to their relations. Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno said, “We have also strongly urged China for an immediate release at various levels, and we will continue to do so.” Mr. Matsuno added that the man, in his mid-50s, was formally arrested in mid-October....
